Google Cloud Architect Certification
I recently passed the GCP Architect Certification Exam on the initial attempt. A few people have asked about preparation and experience, here is what worked for me and what the remote proctored exam experience was like.
Synopsis Preparation Approximately 1 year before exam, completed Coursera Cloud Architecture with Google Cloud Consists of 6 courses, 6-10 hours per course. Essential Google Cloud Infrastructure: Foundation Essential Google Cloud Infrastructure: Core Services Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure Reliable Google Cloud Infrastructure: Design and Process Elastic Google Cloud Infrastructure: Scaling and Automation Preparing for the Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Exam 6-9 Months of working in GCP on personal and professional projects I also have been working with GCP on and off for a few years Purchased Official Study Guide 1 month of study at 2 hours per night with 6-8 hours on weekends Read book through once Read through book again, taking end of chapter tests Flash Cards in sets of 20-40 a few times a week Random questions in sets of 50-70 from all 300 sample questions every night for the week before exam Exam Signed in 15 minutes early and waited for about 30 minutes Be prepared to show ID a few times and then show a clean desk, this can take a while 75 Minutes for first pass through 50 questions 15 questions flagged for review with 5 having no answer 15 Minutes to go back and review and the flagged questions and answer the last 5 10 Minutes to review all 50 and submit Short Survey Notification of Pass / Fail Certification sent 7-10 days later, after exam is reviewed Important to Know Case Studies used during the exam, for about 15 questions.

Wilderness Labs Meadow Replaces Netduino
While migrating my Netduino antique radio project to this new site, I pulled out the board and started looking at code again. Well, time waits for no one and the Netduino is discontinued! However, it looks like Wilderness Labs picked it up and are carrying the c# IoT banner with the new Meadow.
I will fondly remember my Netduino. It was my first time soldering, and it was horrible. I was using a super cheap soldering iron I found at our recycling center and I didn’t know they could make such a difference.
